elevate Youth Ministry

elevate - "lifting something or someone higher" – That something or someone is the person of Jesus Christ. At elevate youth ministry, we want to see Christ lifted up in all that we do and say. That is the mission of this community – to see Jesus praised in everything.

elevate - Grow
Tuesday nights from 7-9pm
At elevate, we are committed to studying the Word of God together. A Bible study is one of the ways we do that. Bible Studies will happen twice a month on Tuesday nights during the year beginning October 6th. This is a fundamental element of our program. As the date approaches, plan to make Grow a priority for you on Tuesday nights.

We have Grow in different parts of the city. They are held in homes, and usually have no more than 8 people.

We study books of the Bible in a way that challenges us to live as obedient disciples of Jesus. They are a powerful place of intimacy and accountability. Often the people in your Bible Study become your closest friends.

Church
Sunday mornings from 10-11:15am
Every Sunday our community meets at Mountainview Alliance Church for worship.

We begin by arriving for church at 10am. We would love to have you join us! We worship God through singing, prayer, listening to a sermon, taking communion, and tithing. This is a chance for us to come together to worship God and enjoy great fellowship with one another.

elevate - Hangouts
1st and 3rd Friday nights from 7-9pm
Every first and third Friday night of the month our community gets together to experience fellowship. Fellowship is more than friendship. Friendship is tied to interest groups; fellowship is tied to Jesus. When we come together on Friday night we want to do two things: honor Jesus and have fun. This is a great opportunity to invite friends and see people who aren't in your Bible study or attend church on Sundays. These evenings may be structured or unstructured, always involve good food, and are an opportunity to hang out, eat, play, and share life together.

elevate - C.I.A.
Every 4th Friday from 7-9pm
Every 4th Friday of the month, elevate comes together to serve others: not because we have to, but because we believe that Jesus was primarily motivated by love and service, often at a cost. C.I.A. means Compassion-In-Action. At Mountainview, we refuse to be consumer Christians who focus only on ourselves or our community. Although it's important for us to have great community and fellowship with one another, that's not all! Part of following Jesus means we join Him in where he's at: that means getting outside our comfort zones and putting others before ourselves. Our DNA as a community is summarized in our motto: "Service over self."

On these nights we serve wherever we are needed. This could mean, serving a meal at a soup kitchen, helping to clean a local park, working with a local environmental stewardship organization, or simply weeding a garden. We hope you'll join us on these nights, because you'll find that as you serve others, God meets and blesses you in new ways (just talk to anyone who has ever served this way and they will tell you about it). C.I.A. will be a prerequisite for future mission trips…

elevate Special Events
During the year, we do a variety of things that only happen once or twice.

We may be having:
- A youth retreat
- A music concert
- A mission trip

As the year unfolds, you will hear more about these opportunities that you won't want to miss!

A word to potential leaders…
If you are interested in working with the youth of Mountainview Alliance church, I would be more than happy to talk with you further. elevate would be a great way to get involved in the work of the church, to see lives changed, and grow in your faith.

A Recap
We can't wait to see you this year!

As a participant in elevate we gather together in three main ways during the week:

Tuesday night - elevate Grow Bible Study
Friday night - elevate Hangouts/C.I.A.

Sunday morning - Church

Many in our community will participate in all three. If you can only come to one thing, we encourage you to make Tuesday night or Sunday morning your elevate commitment, because spending time in fellowship with others and digging deep into God's Word is what will help you grow in your faith the most.

We offer a warm welcome to you!
